Fuel System
Fuel Injection System
Your fuel system consists of fuel injectors, intake ports, intake valves, combustion chambers, throttle body, and the intake manifold. Deposits in any of these areas can reduce fuel economy, impair drive-ability, and can interfere with the proper operation of your engine. Even running premium gasoline cannot prevent this from occurring. These deposits occur as a by-product of burning gasoline and need to be removed on a regular basis.
Deposits building in the combustion chamber and intake valves can alter the engine’s compression ration, causing it to be hard to start, knock, and run on. These deposits can cause a vehicle to need higher octane gasoline to run properly.
The most common symptoms associated with fuel injector deposits are stalling, hesitation, and loss of power. Fuel injector deposits can interrupt the delivery of fuel and disrupt the spray pattern.
Symptoms: rough idling, reduced fuel economy, hesitation when accelerating, engine knocking, pinging or run-on, loss of performance, cold start problems, need for higher octane fuel and failed emission testing.
